General
What types of photography do you offer?
I photograph the people, stories, and moments that make life meaningful. My work currently focuses on branding, love stories, portraits, and families. My approach is centered around connection, thoughtful composition, and photographs that feel like you.
Where are you located?
I’m based in the DFW area of Texas, primarily serving Frisco, Little Elm, Flower Mound, and Highland Village. I was born and raised right here in DFW, so I’m very familiar with the Metroplex and the many different settings it has to offer. I photograph throughout the surrounding area and am also happy to travel for the right story—especially when the location itself is meaningful to you.
Where do sessions usually take place?
I do a mix of studio, in-home/in-business, and outdoor settings. I’m also open to pretty much anywhere you have in mind—a bookstore, museum, favorite shop, or even somewhere completely unexpected. As long as we have light I can work with, I’m always up for making a location work.
Do you help us choose a location?
Absolutely. Location can completely change the feeling of a session, so I don’t expect you to show up with the perfect spot already chosen. I’ll help you find somewhere that fits the mood, lighting, time of day, and overall vision for your session. If you already have a meaningful location in mind, even better.
Do you pose your clients?
Yes—but I don’t want your session to feel like a series of poses.
I’ll give you direction when, but I also leave room for movement, interaction, and those little moments that happen naturally. My goal is to create photographs that feel intentional without feeling overly staged. I prefer a mix of posed and candid.
I’m awkward in front of the camera. Is that okay?
Very okay. I’m awkward BEHIND the camera... so I promise, I’m not going to expect you to suddenly become a professional model the second I point a camera at you!
So if being in front of a camera makes you a little uncomfortable, you’re in good company. We’ll figure it out together.
How long do sessions last?
Different sessions call for more or less time. Most full portrait sessions are designed to last up to about an hour.
Studio sessions may take longer depending on the concept and setup.
For branding sessions, timing is customized around the needs of your business and the variety of images we’re creating. These often last 2-6 hours.
Mini sessions vary and are not always available.
What should I wear?
What you wear can heavily impact the overall look and feel of your images.
Consider things like fabrics, textures, color theory, how comfortable you feel in what you’re wearing, and how cohesive everything feels with the environment around you!
Skin and makeup?
If you want to get the most out of your look I reccomend a *slightly* heavier hand with color and dimensional products, while *drastically* reducing products that create shine, oil, reflect a lot of light, or cause texture issues.
This can help reduce "hot spots" during our session. Hot spots can cause blown-out whites/highlights and those details can't be recovered. If you have very oily skin, a little extra powder helps. If you prefer zero makeup, oil blotting sheets do exist!
What looks great in person, does not always translate well in photography. A dewy look is not really suitable for flash, strobe, or the harsh sun.
When will we receive our photos?
Turnaround time varies depending on the type of session and current workload, and I’ll always give you an expected delivery timeframe when you book. My turnaround time is typically 3-4 weeks.
Your finished gallery will be delivered through an online gallery where you can view, download, and share your images.
Do you offer prints and albums?
I offer professional prints, wall art, and albums through my online gallery. Your beautiful photos deserve to live somewhere other than a screen!
Can I print with any lab?
You’re welcome to use any lab, but I definitely recommend using a professional lab for the best color, paper quality, and consistency. I also offer professional printing directly through your gallery for added convenience.
Do you edit and retoutch the images?
Every delivered image receives my signature editing, including adjustments to color, exposure, contrast, and skin tones, along with other fine-tuning, artistic decisions, and thoughtful cleanup as needed and at my discretion.
I want you to look like yourself—just like the best version of yourself on a really good day. My goal is refinement rather than making you look like a completely different person.
Other
Are love story sessions for any occasion?
Yes! It can be an engagement, anniversary, date night, or simply a season you want to remember, we’ll make it feel special! This is for new & old couples alike.
What are portrait stories for?
They can be traditional portraits, something more editorial, a super creative idea, a milestone, a personal project, or simply an opportunity to document yourself in a particular season of life.
Branding
What is a branding session?
A branding session is not just headshots. It creates a collection of intentional images that visually communicate who you are, what you do, and what makes your business yours.
Planning it out is part of the fun! We will create a variety of images you can use across your website, social media, marketing, and other parts of your business. I will capture mixture of portraits, working images, details, environmental photographs, maybe a few behind-the-scenes moments, and some images that tell the story of your business.
I don't know what I want my branding photos to look like yet. Is that a problem?
Nope! You don’t need to arrive with your entire vision figured out. We’ll talk about your business, your personality, your audience, any creative ideas, and how you want people to feel when they encounter your brand. This is a small part of the reason branding shoots take so long.
